We’re based in Canada and wanted to pay homage to great Canadians and chose two Nobel Prize winners. Alice Munro was renowned for her short stories and in 2013, was the first Canadian Literature honoree. Frederick Banting was a doctor and pharmacologist whose groundbreaking work with Dr J.J.R. Macleod led to the discovery of insulin. They were the first Canadian Nobel Prize winners and shared the Prize for Medicine in 1923.
